After seven months he left Slackware 12.1 is the time for Slackware 12.2 to leave the limelight. This is an updated version of Slackware 12 packages with new and improved.

Apart from security updates, the Slackware 12.2 Kernel 2.6.27.7 and bring updates as Xfce 4.4.3, KDE 3.5.10, support for HAL, among other things.
The Slackpkg also does from now on part of the main Slackware tree in the AP series (Applications that do not require the X window system).

System binaries are linked against version 2.7 of glibc, and excellent compatibility with existing binaries. Recent versions of X are better and more hardware support, providing better performance too. The Slack 12.2 comes with gcc-4.2.4 as default compiler for C, C + +, Objective-C, and Ada Fortran-77/95 95. Besides bringing several updated packages, of course - but without accepting the KDE 4 yet.
