Pull technology is the technology that allows a user who subscribes to the service to obtain the information, the push is the one that automatically sends the information to the user who subscribed to the service.
RSS Purpose
RSS is basically an indexing service of the latest news published in blogs and websites we visit daily, for this to happen we have to subscribe to the RSS feed for each site / blog. Usually RSS feeds are available only on sites regularly updated.
This is useful because for a daily user of the Web every day visit dozens of sites, this service can now subscribe to the RSS feed from your favorite sites without having to go there every day wasting time because not many blogs are updated daily. Thus we can simply read all the latest news from our favorite sites in one place saves a lot of time.
