3 safety tests for any user of the Web
Posted in Internet, Security, Windows | Tags: browser, bug, firewall, browser, doors, SecurityWith the daily threats that plague users of the web in this world, it is essential to verify the security policies of your machine / system in order to avoid greater evils. In this context I will present the following 3 security testing.
Firewall Test
This is a test at the doors of your machine for possible security breaches with open doors. You can either opt to 3 different tests, the basic test that looks only for ports that typically without user knowledge are open, the same test can be performed in a range of ports defined by the user. There is also the proficiency test which allows you to choose the ports to be examined.
To start the test have to know your ip (the ip in principle be automatically detected), for this follow the following page omeuip.com and check your ip address.
Test your browser
This test will try to crash your browser (browser). The test will try to exploit known vulnerabilities in the user's browser that was previously detected in order to try each of the situations. If your browser is not updated the likelihood of bugs compromise their online safety is very high, which in the most aggressive can allow remote access to your machine.
With my Firefox 3:05 everything is in order and no abnormality was found.
Test your popup blocker's
Blockers's are applications that block the opening of windows is not authorized by the user while browsing the web. Calendar is therefore the window open without the user's consent. This test will have a network from 1 to 100 where 100 is the complete blocking of popups.
If by chance you do not have an application / extension dedicated to blocking pop-ups do not worry because nowadays many browsers already have a popup blocker quite nice.
Remember, safety is never enough!
