How to connect your PC or laptop to TV

With the increase in downloads of movies and the Internet is increasingly aptecivel watch them on your TV with friends, instead of viewing them through the monitor, or even having to see them on TV without burning any CD or DVD.

In this article I will make a presentation on how you can connect your PC or laptop to your home TV, using a variety of solutions, these can vary from TV to TV.

Below listed some of the methods that can be used.

# 1 S-video

This is probably the best solution currently in use, much the fault of cheap cable, and S-video input that is found in almost all TV's.
Have to consider when buying a cable that has S-video input on your computer / laptop. Have to bear in mind that there are two types of S-video, the 4 and 7 pins. Most computers / laptops are equipped with 7 pin's input so if your TV has only one input pin 4's that combination will not work.

# 2 VGA

If you have an HDTV (high definition TV) then the solution will certainly go away by turning on your computer / laptop via a VGA cable. The VGA cable will give you the higher quality and is a cheap cable, such as S-Video cable. The TV's oldest not bring this port, so only work with HDTV's.

# 3 DVI

The DVI (Digital Visual Interface) works with a DVI cable that will bring higher quality to the quality of the cables S-video and VGA.
The DVI port will have to be present on your computer / laptop and have to have an HDTV such as VGA. This cable, unlike the VGA and S-video is not as cheap but already by just over € 10.

# 4 HDMI

Using HDMI will enjoy the quality of your HDTV to the fullest. Computers do not bring common HDMI port, but you can always buy a converter cable DVI to HDMI cable to connect to your HDTV. HDMI is compatible with DVI.

# 5 VGA Converter

This is in my opinion the worst choice, because of high price of the converter. The Converter allows you to connect through the VGA port of your PC / Laptop to S-Video on your TV.

Hello Fabio, I assume that everything you have already connected but still nothing works, what should be happening is that the graphics are not prepared to send the image to another device (in this case the TV) so you need to do is go to settings graphics card in order to define where the image is gone.
You can try clicking the right button at the bottom of the desktop> Properties> Settings and check the graphics card you have installed, then depending on the card there should be an application of the board that governs all options for a graphics card.

I got this cable and have a adapatador to turn on the television through normal scart socket. Thus, I turn everything and bury my TV in AV and did not appear absolutely nothing. I would like to connect my laptop to a plasma TV. I put the VGA cable to the PC input of the television. I have a laptop sony vaio vgn-nw21ef with grafica ati raedon 4570, I wonder how to connect to one of the old tv, I bought two cables one VGA and one VGA (female) / Scart, because what I did was the following, called a cable vga to laptop and then turned on at the other end the other cable (female) VGA / Scart (female, I think I can call it that) and its TV scart will, so far all seems well.
In the settings of the TV card does not appear but I think that setting up another display is also ok, it recognizes the tv but the screen is all black, already tested in the TV AV1 and AV2 and nothing, someone help me? is it the cables or the tv?
